Sergeant’s Pet Care Products recently distributed 5,000 Pet Health Kits worth up to $250,000 to shelters nationwide as part of the emBARK on Pet Health program.
The emBARK on Pet Health campaign asked pet owners to take a free pledge to become more mindful of their pet’s ongoing needs at www.embarkonpethealth.com. Each pledge triggered a donation of a Sergeant’s Pet Health Kit, which helped thousands of animals waiting for their forever homes at local shelters nationwide.
Sergeant’s Pet Care Products has delivered the promised 5,000 kits, which helps ensure these animals are sent home with all the products they need to get started on a healthy and happy life after adoption.
“There are millions of animals looking to be adopted in shelters nationwide at any given time,” said Patsy Sumner, vice president of marketing services. “We hope the Sergeant’s Pet Health Kits will give families an additional incentive for considering adoption this summer, knowing they will not only leave with a new lovable family member, but also with all the tools they need for a healthy start together.”
Each Pet Health Kit, estimated at a total retail value of $50, features the most popular Sergeant’s products designed to keep pets healthy every day. These products include:

A Sergeant’s employee was on site at one of the shelters as they received hundreds of Sergeant’s Pet Health Kits. The Tri County Humane Society in Boca Rotan, Fla., was especially crowded when Sergeant’s arrived because they had just rescued 80 animals, 64 dogs and 16 cats, from Oklahoma after the tornado devastation. The shelter still has rescue pets from Oklahoma available for adoption. They are currently being sent to their forever homes with a pet health kit from Sergeant’s.
